Half Time

16:05 - 16:25 TiDB with Supply Chain System in FMCG IndustryNanwei YI | CR Enterprise +
  • Shenzhen Huachuang Zhixin Technology Co., Ltd. independently developed the digital supply chain management in the FMCG industry.
  • This digital supply chain management covers most of the raw material production, processing, packaging, transportation, distribution, sales, and after-sales services of the FMCG industry, helping companies understand and grasp demand signals and make accurate forecasts in time, analyze the demand and make feasible demand plan, and respond to the demand signal quickly, thus improving the efficiency and benefit of the whole supply chain.
  • System architecture before transformation: using MySQL sharding
  • Adopt MySQL middleware to shard databases and tables. After sharding, the cross-database consistency is the final consistency, and the code maintenance is cumbersome; adding fields in tables is troublesome, and each table in each schema must be added; adding new nodes needs to shut down the system and then migrate the data; outage migration has real-time read-write impact on online users.
  • System architecture after transformation: introducing TiDB
  • The technical team decided to deploy a high-performance database system to solve the pain points of the current business. Finally, from the perspective of satisfying business requirements, reducing migration costs, and reducing operation and maintenance costs, TiDB was selected as the preferred transactional database for business.

16:45 - 17:05 Using TiDB in ChehaoduoSheyang WANG | Chehaoduo +
  • It has been almost a year and a half since using TiDB in Guazi. At present, some online business of some MySQL big tables adhoc and Maodou have landed, but there are still many things to do before fully exploiting the potential in the Chehaoduo.
  • During migrating from MySQL to TiDB, we have gained some experience and thoughts, such as using DM (TiDB Data Migration) to replicate the binlogs, deploying TiDB solutions to optimize resource utilization and TiDB jsontype performance testing. Inside Chehaoduo, we'd to share how a new storage technology can gradually build trust in the company's business research and development.

With the increase in the number of TiDB clusters and nodes, the timely follow-up of monitoring work such as monitoring, alarming, and analysis for these clusters will largely determine TiDB's service quality. For this topic, we will share with you how to achieve observability of TiDB based on Elastic Stack from multiple dimensions such as metric, logging, and Tracing, so as to improve TiDB's service quality.
17:35 - 17:45 TiDB in Mafengwo: Practice and InsightsGuoqing HU | Mafengwo +
  • I will elaborate on the basis of our service database system (including the challenges encountered in the design, development, operation and maintenance):
  • 1. The design advantage of service-oriented TiDB is to shield the underlying operation and maintenance details of TiDB for R&D. TiDB services can be obtained through a visual interface or API without paying attention to resource allocation [resource feasibility analysis], deployment, migration, expansion, monitoring and details such as downtime handling;
  • 2. Another advantage of service-oriented TiDB is the unified control and management of resources, ensuring the consistency of the environment, laying the foundation for operation and maintenance automation, and effectively reducing hardware and human resources.
